DPP orders Eurobond investigations

Nairobi - Director of Public Prosecutions DPP Keriako Tobiko has ordered for investigations into the scandalous Eurobond scheme.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI to investigate the KES 250
billion Eurobond deals.
This follows queries by the opposition and civil society over the transactions which they feel to have been misused or wasted.
In a letter Wednesday, Tobiko ordered EACC and DCI to investigate the transaction records and record
statements and report back to him in 10 days.
Tobiko expressed concern that in the last couple
of months, several allegations concerning the matter had been widely
reported in the media.
“I am informed that your respective agencies have commenced and are undertaking investigations into the matter,” he said.

This follows the move by CORD leaders to ask the government to declare and make public the use of the Eurobond cash within 14 days.
CORD leader Raila Odinga had stated that it was a must for Kenyans to be explained to where the funds went to as it was their right and that the money would eventually be paid by taxpayers.
