Nairobi - The Director of Public Prosecutions DPP has apologized for naming an aide to DP William Ruto on the list of persons being probed for the loss of KES 791 million at the National Youth Service NYS.
Farouk Kibet, who is Ruto's close friend had been named in a list of 11 people to be probed by the DPP in the loss of the funds but the DPP has now come back to take back the claim.
" DPP wishes to clarify that MR Farouk Kibet was not one of the suspects named to be charged over the loss of funds at NYS," a statement read.
" The error was noted and subsequently corrected," it added.
Kibet is accused of receiving KES 1.5 million from one of the persons accused of being involved in the skewed transactions.
Kibet is a well known think tank of the DP and is usually seen around him as he traverses around the country.
