DP Ruto's arrogance hurting Jubilee, says RV leader

22 February 2016, 08:10 Jackson Okata

Nakuru - Former Rongai member of Parliament, Luka Kigen has said that the arrogance being portrayed by deputy President William Ruto is costing the Jubilee coalition in Rift valley.

Kigen said that Ruto's arrogance is greatly killing Jubilee's support in Rift valley.

Speaking Sunday in Rongai town, Kigen added that Ruto is drunk with power and has forgotten where he came from.

Kigen said that the rebellion being witnessed in Rift valley will grow even bigger ahead of 2017 election.

"The deputy President has become so arrogant and doesn't want to listen to his own people. He is listening to outsiders more than his own people and this will harm Jubilee," said Kigen.

He added: "Rift valley cannot stomach his arrogance and that is why we are prepared to teach him a lesson he won't forget."

Kigen told Ruto to brace for more rebellion within his home turf if he doesn't change the way he is treating Kalenjins.

"If he can't value Kalenjins, then Kalenjins won't value him and he should be prepared for that," he said.

He accused Ruto of using Kalenjins as a bait to attain political and economic goals.

"He used the Kalenjin community as a bait to get rich by selling us to the highest political bidder but this time round we are awake," he said.
