DP Ruto is a threat to his own presidential ambitions

03 June 2016, 08:09 Jackson Okata

Nakuru - Deputy President William Ruto is becoming a threat to his own presidential ambitions, a member of Parliament has said.

Rongai MP Raymond Moi said Ruto has a wrong sense of entitlement to the presidency, something he says is making him more politically insecure.

Speaking Thursday in Nakuru town, Moi said that by seeing Raila as his enemy and attacking him every opportunity he gets, Ruto is killing his own ambition of becoming Kenya's fourth President.

Moi called on Ruto to stop seeing his opponents as enemies and reminded him that he might need them sometimes in life.

"DP Ruto has become so insecure of late and he seems unaware of the political shock that awaits him in 2022," said Moi.

"He should stop seeing everybody in the opposition as his enemy because by attacking people like Raila all the time might work against him," he said.

"The main issue that Ruto has against Raila is that he sees Raila as his biggest stumbling block in the 2022 race," he added.

Moi advised Ruto to tone down because he might need help from the same opposition leaders he keeps attacking in 2022.

"Who knows Ruto might need Raila's help and support in 2022 because you never know how politics might just change but if he keeps treating people as his enemies things might backfire on him," said Moi.
