Dissolve Devolution Ministry, CORD tells Uhuru

Nairobi - Dissolve the Devolution Ministry with immediate effect, CORD leaders have told President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Ministry has been in the eye of the storm in recent times over the wastage of funds and high levels of corruption with Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru especially under serious pressure over the loss of as much as KES 3 billion.
Waiguru though has not resigned as the opposition have insisted and the government has yet to take any steps to show that they are willing to do anything about the situation.
CORD chairman John Mbadi says that the President if he is not willing to suspend Waiguru, must thus dissolve the ministry.
" The ministry should be dissolved since the President has decided he is not going to sack Waiguru. The ongoing corruption is weighing heavily on Kenyans," he stated Thursday.
He called on the President to also hive off the National Youth Service NYS off the Ministry.
" The NYS should not be under the Ministry and should be taken elsewhere for better management," he added.
Waiguru has so far denied any involvement in corruption and says that she will not quit office unless there is proof displayed that she has done anything wrong.
