Nairobi - Teachers have overwhelmingly elected Wilson Sossion Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General for another 5 years.
Top officials Sossion and Chairman Mudzo Nzili have been re-elected unopposed, to serve another five-year term.
Sossion and Nzili retained their seats in the union’s general election held at the Kasarani Stadium gymnasium Friday
The Steering committee was automatically re-elected, in accordance to the KNUT constitution.
" I want to thank Kenyan teachers for having faith in my team and KNUT by electing us unopposed," Sossion said.
" I remain yours faithfully, KNUT Secretary General and president African teachers," he added.
The two have been backed by teachers to continue the fight to get better salaries and allowances for their bunch in the wake of continued refusal by the government to agree to new terms.
