Deputy Governor risks losing car, staff for absconding duty

Bomet- The rivalry between Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and his deputy Stephen Mutai has taken a new twist after the Governor threatened to withdraw his deputy's withdraw his car and staff if he does not resume with his duties.
The Governor accused his deputy of absconding his duties for quite a long period of time.
"He has not reported to work for the last one year. He should report to work immediately," said Ruto.

Ruto, who spoke in Konoin said it was wrong for the deputy Governor to neglect his duties and then go around spreading propaganda against his regime.
"He has not reported to work so I can assign him duties and yet he goes around saying that I have neglected him," said Ruto.
When contacted by News24, Mutai accused the Governor of frustrating him by denying him funds.
"I have been denied funds for my office and to fuel my car. How can I then perform my duties without funds?" he asked.
