Nairobi - A wife to an assistant chief, who committed suicide on Friday, has blamed another woman over the death of the chief.
Joyce Wanjiku claimed her husband Joseph Waweru had been raising complaints that a side woman he was having was frustrating him and he was unable to perform his duties accordingly.
“He was complaining that his mpango wa kando was demanding money from him. She even hide his official uniform and he could not report to work,” Wanjiku said.
Subukia OCPD, however, said a suicide letter the chief left behind pointed to a family issues over a piece of land the chief and his brothers inherited.
Waweru hanged himself in his house using a rope. The wife said the deceased asked for a pen and paper before ordering his family to leave. They came back and found his body dangling from the ceiling.
