Dear wife, stop telling your friends about the perfect attributes in your husband

29 September 2016, 14:12 Shakila Alivitsa

Nairobi - No matter how many times it is said, some women never listen.

Yesterday I had a jaw dropping moment. My colleague comes into the office with some lady following closely behind. She says hi and they leave to go talk outside.

He comes back and because we joke a lot I tell him that I hope he is not up to his usual shenanigans. He loves women even though he is married.

He informs me that that particular lady is a friend of the wife and he did not even tell her to come but she just dropped by on her own. She just called him while she was downstairs and was just like, ‘I am down here.’ So I am thinking, ‘Oh, that is a family friend?’ He tells me no but I think she wants more from me.

Me: This lady is your wife’s friend and not yours? And she just dropped by to your office out of the blue.

He says yes so I ask him what he is going to do and he tells me, for once, she is not my type. I praised Jesus!

Oh and by the way, she did not inform the friend that she is going to visit her husband at his office. Because this guy does not want drama either, it is going to stay quiet.

This fellow is a good husband to his wife when it comes to all other things; responsibilities, security, care and whatever. So it seems this lady has been singing his praises to her friends because by the time a lady friend takes time to know where your man works and ‘drops’ by; you have been talking a lot. And that person has been around the two of you enough to know that she wants in.

I am not saying all friends are bad. But just keep your marriage yours. Stop talking about the good things. Stop talking about the bad things. Your bad things can be entertained by someone in a worse situation.

You ruin your marriage by bringing a lot of people in who will mess it up. Like this friend here who does not care that you are a wife, if she becomes second that is fine with her as long as it is your husband.
