Nairobi - The Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has announced that he would not seek an elective post in 2017 elections.
Kiunjuri said politicians in Laikipia County were afraid of his candidature.
“I have repeated several times that am not vying for any seat. So those who are afraid of me should know am comfortable serving President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto,” said the CS.
He was rumoured to be eying the County gubernatorial seat which he lost to the incumbent Joshua Irungu in 2013.
He however said he will campaign for Uhuruto’s re-election and also for the newly formed Jubilee Party.
Kiunjuri also urged Central Kenya electorates to support Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid in 2022, stating that he will be in forefront campaigning for the DP.
He was speaking in Laikipia North constituency at Ngenia Secondary School while accompanied by nominated MP Sarah Lekorere.
He urged the constituents to vote for a Jubilee candidate in parliament during next elections.
