Criminals turn to sedatives to keep victims asleep as they rob them

Baringo - Criminal gangs in Kabarnet have devised new ways of robbing their victims.
The gangs are allegedly using chloroform to induce sleep on their victims before breaking into their houses to rob them.
This revelation comes high on the heels of reports of an increased wave of insecurity in the area.
The gang is said to have broken into about 30 houses in the past one month.
Police have urged residents to be vigilant and promised to intensify night patrols in a bid protect them from the gang.
However, residents who staged demos against the gang on Monday evening blamed the security agents for colluding with the gangs.
“Police are well connected with these people… The saddest thing is that when they raid your home, they sweep it clean,” lamented a resident who requested anonymity.
