Court releases Matheri, a self-confessed cannibal citing lack of evidence

kuru - A Nakuru court on Friday acquitted self-confessed serial killer and vampire Geoffrey Njoroge Matheri alias Fongo.
Nakuru high court jugde, Lady Justice Maureen Odero in setting the suspect free cited lack of enough and strong evidence to convict Matheri.
Judge Odero said that the prosecution failed to prove to the court that the accused was guilty of murder thus prompting her to set him free.

Matheri who was facing murder charges had earlier denied killing Miriam Wairimu on diverse dates between January 1 and August 14, 2008 in Kihoto Village of Naivasha sub-County.
In 2008, Matheri shocked the nation when he confessed to abducting, raping, killing and later sucking blood from women.
