Nairobi - Suspended Cabinet Secretaries have been earning full salaries despite being out of office for the last 6 months, it has emerged.
State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu says that the suspended CS's have been paid in full because they are not yet proved guilty.
" They are still earning full salaries. The truth is that there are some privileges that have been lost but the salaries are still applicable," he said.
5 CS's have so far been suspended by the President.
Lands CS Charity Ngilu, Agriculture's Felix Koskei, Labour's Kazungu Kambi, Transport's Michael Kamau and Davis Chirchir of Energy.
Esipisu also said that the CS's would still remain suspended until the President makes up his mind on the matter.
" The President will make a decision at the opportune time," he added.
The CS's all of them except Ngilu have been cleared by the relevant authorities over corruption at their various dockets, with Kambi the latest of the five to be cleared last week by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC over lack of evidence.
