CORD sabotaging economy, Ruto says

Nairobi - CORD leaders are either liars or are bent on sabotaging the economy, DP William Ruto has said.
Speaking during Jamhuri Day celebrations in Nairobi Saturday, Ruto termed the continued attacks on the government by the opposition over the KES 250 billion Eurobond was either of two things.
" Either they are outright liars or are bent on sabotaging the economy," he stated.
He said that the government is keen on ending the corruption scourge but that they needed help from all and sundry to achieve the goal.
" We can do it. We just need to work together to ensure that we defeat this ill," he added.
He insisted that the government had put in place serious measures to ensure that corruption is non-existent in the country in the coming years.
" The reality is that it is difficult to fight it but we have the measures in place to ensure that we deal with it properly," he continued.
Ruto also feels that the country is on the right path in terms of its development goals.
" We have achieved a lot and we are confident we will see more growth as time goes by," he added.
Corruption was among the main topics at the Jamhuri Day celebrations, with the government setting out it stall as regards fighting the vice.
