CORD MPs clash over Jubilee support

Bungoma - Two CORD MPs have clashed over claims that one of them is supporting Jubilee coalition government.
Ford Kenya's Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi has accused the only ODM MP in Bungoma County Sirisia MP John Waluke for sympathizing with Jubilee while he is expected to be spearheading ODM agenda in the region.
"The support hon Waluke continues to give Jubilee is tantamount to sabotaging CORD," said Wamunyinyi.
Wamunyinyi had earlier on during the commemoration of Fidel Odinga the son to CORD leader Raila Odinga in Bondo had accused Waluke of betraying the opposition by selling the Jubilee ideologies instead of the coalition that took him to Parliament.
The two MPs are ex soldiers; Waluke a former military officer and Wamunyinyi a former regular police officer.
But on Friday during the funds drive in aid of a fallen Kenya Defense Officer Paul Wamukota in Malakisi in Sirisia, Waluke accused Wamunyinyi of failing to sell Ford Kenya ideologies and is very much concerned about his (Waluke's) welfare.
"I am the only elected ODM Mp in Bungoma County and Wamunyinyi was elected in Ford Kenya, nobody can force me to work with CORD as long as I have not gone against my party manifestos am ready to work with the Jubilee government for the sake of development in my area," said Waluke.
He said that Sirisia constituency had lagged behind in development due to poor leadership from the former MP Moses Wetang'ula and wants to make sure that they can't continue suffering.
"During his tenure Wetang'ula favored the upper part of Sirisia now Kabuchai constituency where he set up many different projects, leaving the lower part now Sirisia constituency wallowing in dire poverty," he said.

The County ODM Chairman said that he will campaign against Wamunyinyi in the next general election because he is not a popular candidate and cannot recapture the Kanduyi seat back.
He said that he has not been asked by his party leade,r Raila Odinga to explain his reasons for working with the Jubilee government and called on Wamunyinyi to stop interfering with his freedom.
"I can no longer tolerate and stomach his behavior of tainting my name in his meetings. Wamunyinyi should show leadership by not running up and down with my name," cautioned Waluke.
He said that he can't be forced to stay in CORD owing to the fact that his constituencies are benefiting from the Jubilee goodies.
"Recently the president launched the tarmacking of Chwele, Sirisia and Lwakhakha road and also commissioned the Kimama, Chesikaki Water project at a cost of KES 600 000 million. What else do we want from the opposition?" he posed.
However, Wamunyinyi described Waluke as a lost leader who needs to be disciplined to toe the line.
"How can you desert your family and join your neighbor because they have food? It's CORD that brought you up and you should continue supporting it. The issue of supporting Jubilee coalition is betrayal of the highest order," said Wamunyinyi.
