Nairobi - Nairobi Cord MCAs have threatened to skip the official opening of the new assembly on Tuesday on grounds that Raila Odinga was not invited.
The new August House is set to be opened by President Uhuru Kenyatta following an invitation by Speaker Alex ole Magelo.
In a text message dispatched on Sunday, Majority Whip David Mberia told the Cord MCAs to skip thesession and instead attend a Kamukunji at Tulips restaurant, Kileleshwa.
"Kindly attend without fail," Mberias message read in part. Cord MCAs led by Mathare North MCA Oscar Lore on Sunday threatened to abide by the direction of the coalition's leaders in the August House.
Lore and Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok said that their efforts to have Raila open the assembly have been futile.
