CORD lost 2017 Presidency on April 5th, 2016

It goes without saying that above all, the International Criminal Court’s ‘MISTRIAL’ verdict was an own goal for the Fatou-led prosecution, an unrepentant slap on the face of the 2007/2008 Post Election Violence Victims, and a resounding victory to impunity.
However, methinks CORD and its top lieutenants namely Raila, Kalonzo and Wetangula were perhaps the undisputed losers of the earth-shaking verdict that will greatly alter the political landscape ahead of the 2017 general elections.
It doesn’t require rocket-science knowledge to conclude that if UhuRuto could floor the trio back in 2007 with crimes against humanity cases hanging menacingly on their precious necks, nothing would stop them from clinching the presidency once again now that they are ‘free’ and only too eager to unite Kenyans by every rule in the book!
Had Kenya’s African National Union (KANU), Sang, floored Jubilee’s Alliance Party (JAP) flag-bearer, Aaron Cheruiyot in the hotly-contested March 7th Kericho Senatorial by-elections, the story would have been a little messy. A loss for JAP would have undeniably bolstered the morale of the opposition brigade which badly wounded the ruling JUBILEE Coalition in the Malindi Parliamentary by-election, and further weakened DP Ruto’s grip on the voter-rich Rift Valley.
Now that the DP is free, Kalenjins are more united than ever before, and a 2013 general election repeat is highly likely. That the DP and his former co-accused Sang were not unilaterally acquitted, meaning should the now wounded prosecution land their vengeful hands on fresh evidence their cases might be rejuvenated, presents an ugly stumbling block for the opposition.
Again, as was the case in 2013, the DP and his ruthless army of amateurish, yet extremely efficient propagandists such as Duale, Murkomen, Kindiki…will remind the Kalenjin-kikuyu ruling dynasty that should CORD win, yet another date with Fatou Bensouda would be inevitable! Railaphobia (the fear of Raila) is bound to be rekindled, refurbished and spread like a wild fire! And oh yes! The tyranny of numbers would still be there!
Sad thing is that it was this very same man, the DP, who when Raila and Kibaki were actively advocating for a local tribunal (for fear of their own names being dragged to Hague), he was criss-crossing the country selling his ‘DON’T BE VAGUE, LET’S GO TO HAGUE’ chorus. Well, as was the case, he got away with his political treachery and it is Raila to date who carries the blame for their prosecution!
I am happy, like any other Kenyan, but not fully content until the DP and his boss, Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, start walking their big talk…Internally displaced Persons must be resettled and compensated. UhuRuto must be true to the creed of the office they hold which mandates them to serve as symbols of national unity. And like the Israelites, after the Germany-Nazi holocaust, we must say NEVER AGAIN! May God bless Kenya!
