Nairobi - CORD unity is in serious jeopardy this after Coalition leader Raila Odinga missed FORD Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula's Presidential launch.
Odinga was to attend the eventually chaotic event at the Muliro Gardens in Kakamega Saturday but he did not, raising questions as to where he was.
His absence was deafening.
Wetang'ula told News24 that Odinga had said he would pass by as he was in Kisumu but indications were that Raila was out of the country.
" I don't know what to say," Wetang'ula stated to News24 on phone from Kakamega.
Raila is headed to Tanzania next week and indications were he was already on the way there.
Efforts to reach his press team did not bear fruit.
Co principal Kalonzo Musyoka was in attendance but was left in shock after the chaotic events that took place where there was violence as well as tear gas lobbed by Police to quell tensions thanks to fights between Wetang'ula and Kakamega Governor Wyclife Oparanya's supporters.
The incident will raise serious doubts over CORD unity and it also awaits to be seen what the CORD leader Raila will say about his absence in Kakamega.
