Nairobi - The opposition coalition, CORD has been accused of sponsoring nominated Senator Paul Njoroge to make sensational remarks regarding Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid in 2022.
Kigumo MP, Jamleck Kamau condemned Njoroge’s utterances saying they were misplaced and amounted to betrayal of the party.
He warned that the Senator could have been sent by opponents of Jubilee to destabilize the party saying they would not succeed in their quest.
“We took Njoroge and gave him a nomination into Senate and he should know that he does not speak for Jubilee or TNA. Our Deputy President has stood with us and even vowed to support our President in 2017. The only way to reciprocate such a gesture is to assure him of our support in 2022,” said Kamau.

Senator Njoroge over the weekend claimed that Ruto's support from Mount Kenya region is not guaranteed, just weeks after Kiambu ?Governor made similar remarks.
Kamau added that the Senator had no authority to speak on behalf of the people of Mount Kenya.
He observed that as a nominated Senator, Njoroge could not speak on behalf of the people saying he should contemplate running for office in the next polls instead of relying on nominations.
