Cops in abduction saga released on KES 1 million bond

Mombasa - An Administration Police Officer facing abduction charges in Mombasa alongside three others has been released on a KES 1 million and a surety of similar amount.
Timothy Nganyi an AP attached to the Mvita base, Nasri Ochieng’ a former KDF officer, Rosemary Ngina and Khamis Juma appeared before Mombasa Chief magistrate Julius Nang’ea on Friday to answer to charges of abduction of Rashid Abdallah at Majengo area in Mombasa.
The four also faced another charge of demanding KES 70,000 as ransom for the release of Abdallah whom they were secretly detaining at Likoni area.
They all denied the charges.

Corporal Timothy faced another count of peddling narcotics as he was found with four sachets of heroin worth KES 800 and 10 small rolls of bhang worth KES 200, but he also denied the charges.
The four were released on a KES 1 million surety bond each.
The case will be heard on July 20, 2016.
