Nairobi - After denying that she has a television set worth KES 1.78 million, Devolution CS Anne Waiguru is in a spot of bother after an official at the ministry said that the TV was actually purchased.
Devolution Permanent Secretary Peter Mangiti told a Press Conference Monday that the TV does exist and that it was bought at competitive costs.
" The TV was bought at a competitive cost," he said.
The revelation comes after Waiguru last week stated that she did not have such a TV in her office.
" I do not have such a TV in my office. I do not know about it," she said.
Mangiti also stated that a Piano bought and put under Waiguru's office was for use by the National Youth Service NYS band.
" It was for the NYS band," he claimed.
Mangiti and Waiguru are under pressure in the midst of a number of scandals that have engulfed the ministry in the last couple of months.
The first was KES 821 million loss while it is understood that to this point, as much as KES 3 billion which cannot be traced.
