Nakuru - Kanu supporters in West Pokot County on Wednesday held demonstrations over alleged insulting remarks made by the Deputy president William Ruto against Senator Prof John Lonyangapuo.
The Cockerel Party supporters thronged the streets of Makutano town, accusing the Deputy President of allegedly insulting Senator Lonyagapuo.
The protesters, who were joined by five West Pokot Members of County Assembly and two of their counterparts from Baringo County, hit out at the Deputy President accusing him of abusing their elected leaders.
They issued a two-day ultimatum demanding that Ruto apologizes to the Pokot Community or else they will not vote for Jubilee in the coming elections.

They carried placards and twigs chanting anti-Jubilee slogans and marched along the streets of Makutano town disrupting business, with the protesters claiming Pokot is a Kanu zone.
They condemned remarks made by the DP on a video that went viral on social media saying the Pokot community has a shortage of fools and they should not accept to mislead by Senator Lonyangapuo.
They further accused Ruto over alleged attempts to meddle in the West Pokot County affairs and warned him to keep off the County’s politics and respect elected leaders.
Mnagei Ward MCA James Kapelion said the Deputy President has been abusing the former ruling party Kanu and stated that Kenya is a multiparty democracy and they will not accept a few leaders to return the country to dark days of dictatorship.
“The Deputy President should leave the electorate to decide for themselves and not force them to join the new Jubilee party,” Kapelion said.
