Narok - A senior police officer attached to Criminal Investigations Department in Nairobi is helping detectives in Bomet with investigations into the death of his neighbour in Sotik sub-County.
The soldier is said to have hit the deceased with a hammer during a feud over water.
The deceased, Alfred Kimagut Siele who is a father of eight, is said to have succumbed to injuries at a Kericho hospital last Sunday where he had been referred from Kapkatet Hospital for special medication.

His uncle, Chebose, said the suspect and the deceased are neigbours at Kapsembe village in Sotik sub-County.
The assailant, he noted, had allegedly fenced off a piece of land belonging to the deceased and when asked why he had done so, he got infuriated and attacked the deceased.
Reached for a comment, Sotik OCPD Jonathan Ngala said he was away in Mombasa on official duties but an officer in his office who declined to be named as he is not authorized to speak to the press, confirmed the incident saying that investigations have been launched.
