Nairobi - The Delamere family has agreed to compensate the family of the late KWS game warden Samson Ole Sisina who was dead by Tom in 2005.
According to an impeccable source, Lord Hughe George Delamere the father to Tom has already made arrangements to have the family compensate so as to clear the family’s name.
The source added that the wife of the late KWS ranger Lucy Sisina and some Maasai elders would collect assorted herd of cattle from the Delamere as part of the compensation.
Contacted, the widow confirmed that they were on their way to Soysambu in Gilgil to meet the Delameres.
“The Delamere family has called us for a meeting over the issue of compensation and we are on our way there to listen to their offer,” she said.
Sisina was among KWS officers who had raided the farm in May 2005 in search of game meat before he was shot dead by the late farmer.
The Attorney General (AG) then Amos Wako later terminated the murder case in a move that drew condemnation from various quarters.
Tom Cholmondeley will be laid to rest on Friday in his family’s farm in Soysambu in Gilgil constituency.
