Chipukeezy Attacks Kenyan artists in new YouTube Show
27 September 2016, 20:01
Nairobi - Following in the footsteps of fellow
comedian Eric Omondi, Chipukeezy has started a YouTube show which pokes fun at
Kenyans relative to our neighbors.
His first episode, which has been viewed
more than 16,000 times since its release, is a hit across social media due to
the straight forward, Jon Stewart/ Trevor Noah type comedy, which doesn’t beat
about the bush with things. He takes on the Kenyan music industry relative to
their Tanzanian counterparts, pointing out some of the mistakes our artists are
making, which are restricting their music.
In the video he calls out Kenyans and their
love songs as well as their gospel songs, shooting down artists like Timmy and
Willy Paul for their lyrics. He compares the lyrics of a love song by Tanzanian
artist Ray Vanny against one of Timmy Tdat’s latest release, calling into
question the kind of content Kenyan musicians are producing. Watch this rib
cracker for yourself here:
