Nairobi - Caroline Mutoko has been a figure of great
controversy since her radio days.
She has been at the forefront of fighting for
the common mwananchi, pointing out where politicians and the people that elect
them have gone wrong over the decades.
She has since retirement opened a new
chapter in her life, using YouTube as her platform to voice her thoughts and
She has this week managed to break the internet through one of her
vlogs, where she urges the people of Meru county to grow marijuana for export.
She starts this conversation by pointing
out that the EU no longer allow the importation of Khat, which has been their
main cash crop for decades.
This means that they no longer have a major cash
source and are at the risk of plunging into a regional economic crisis.
then goes on to tell the farmers to ask their legislators to open up dialogue
with the government to allow them to grow the plant for exportation to
countries that the use it recreationally and medically.
This vlog has sparked a
mixed reaction across social media with people for it and against it.
