Nyahururu - Police in Nyandarua North are investigating an incident where a three-year-old boy died after he was attacked by their neighbour's dog in Mbuyu village, Ndaragwa Sub County.
It is allegedly that the deceased had visited his neighbour’s homestead Wednesday morning when their dog attacked him.
According to John Ndung’u, a relative, the minor had just entered the gate when the dog started barking at him.
“He started running away for his safety but the dog caught up with him and attacked, leaving him severe injuries on the face. The boy cried for help and when we arrived at the scene, we found him writhing in pain. His face had already been dismantled,” recalled Ndung’u.

He said that they rushed him to Nyahururu district hospital where he was offered first aid before being referred to Kenyatta National Hospital for specialized treatment.
The relative added that the minor was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit since he had suffered major injuries.
“But on Thursday morning, we were informed that the minor had passed on due to what doctors termed as cardiac arrest,” he laments.
While confirming the incident, Nyandarua North OCPD Morris Assilah said the body of the deceased has been transported to Nyahururu district hospital mortuary as police continue with investigations.
