Nairobi - Police are planning to arrest blogger Robert Alai for stating on his social media pages that DP William Ruto had collapsed and been rushed to hospital.
The blogger made the claims Thursday morning on his Twitter account saying that the DP had collapsed and been rushed to the Nairobi Hospital.
The claims were not proven to be correct or false, as official government sources did not comment on it.
The DP though did travel to North Eastern Province where he is on tour with President Uhuru Kenyatta and looked to be in good health and now Police are said to be looking at whether to charge Alai.
" The matter caused alot of tension and anxiety among members of the public. It was untrue and misuse of a social media account and action will be taken," a police source told News24.
Whether it will be enough to tackle Alai with remains to be seen.
The controversial blogger is not new to cases of alleged social media misuse and has been arrested and charged as a result.
