Blogger Alai charged for 'insulting' EACC boss

Nairobi - Blogger Robert Alai has been charged for stating that Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC boss Walakhe Waqo has a fake University degree.
Blogger Alai was fronted before Milimani Chief Magistrate
Daniel Ogembo Tuesday where it was stated that he caused annoyance to the EACC boss by
claiming that Waqo got his job by using a fake University of Nairobi
He is accused of 'improper use of a licensed telecommunication system'.
He allegedly posted the claims on November 18, 2015 on his Twitter handle.
" It was ironical for the EACC boss to fight
corruption using a fake degree," he was quoted as saying.
Alai denied the claims and has been freed on a KES 100,000 bond with a
surety of similar amount or an alternative cash bail of KES 30,000.
