Nairobi - There was a bizarre incident in Kiambugi village, Murang’a County a family found tombstone at the grave of one of their kin who was buried last week removed and planted in their neighbour’s land.
Residents said the deceased, Susan Mwati, 64, was mysteriously murdered by unknown assailant at home two weeks ago.
The owner of the land where the tombstone was found planted in a maize plantation, Dola Muringo, termed the incident as horrifying as he condemned the perpetrators.
“It is disturbing to have it erected on my farm because I do not know the intention of the person behind it or what it symbolizes,” said surprised Muringo.
A Catholic Priest from Murang’a Diocese, Fr. Edward Muriithi, intervened and helped the residents return the tombstone to its original place before cleansing the place with a word of prayer.
Fr. Muriithi also condemned the executors of the act as he advised the family to report the matter to police.
