Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has told CORD leaders and supporters to expect police force if they continue planning to kick the IEBC out of office.
The president, speaking Wednesday stated that there would only be an allowance for legal means to deal with the IEBC and that any other means would be rebuffed.
" There is no way there will be any violence allowed. We have legal means to work on such things. If not then we will not agree," he stated.
He added that any disruptions to the public caused by the protests will not be allowed.
" Let them present a petition to Parliament and it will be decided by the MPs," he said.
He further made it clear that he has no powers over the IEBC and the tenure of its officials.
" What role do I have with the going or staying of the commissioners? Read the Constitution," the President said.
said Cord leaders had abandoned the law and the Constitution by
enticing people to riot and destroy the property of Kenyans.
said the section of the opposition fronting the use of force against the
IEBC should follow the procedures laid out in the Constitution.
" Some of those running in the streets do not even know what IEBC stands for," the President said.
CORD has stated that there will be protests from next week to help kick the IEBC out of office.
