Bahati makes history at Coke Studio
10 June 2016, 17:09
Nairobi - Kenyan Gospel sensation Bahati is a happy man this morning
after officially making history by becoming the very first gospel artist to be
featured in an episode of the Coke Studio.
The studio has so far only featured
secular artists including Sauti Sol, Nazizi, Bamboo, Khaligraph Jones, MI and
Yemi Alade among many others. Things finally seem to be looking up for the
artist who missed out on a chance to win another Groove Award, after being left
out of the nominees list despite having made good music.
He couldn’t hold his excitement, sharing the news with his
fans on Facebook.
He wrote “HISTORY IS MADE? Sweet Hearts.. Now Guess Who is
the First Gospel Artist Africa to be signed by CocaCola COKE STUDIO AFRICA.”
This move by Coke Studio management means that the flood gates might open and
give the opportunity for other gospel sensations like Willy Paul and Kris Eeh
Baba to make their way into the global limelight.
