Nairobi - Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Alex Ole Magelo has approved a motion seeking to impeach Governor Evans Kidero.
The motion was approved by the Speaker after 52 MCAs appended their signatures to it.
The motion was sponsored by Viwandani Member of County Assembly (MCA) Samuel Nyangwara.
MCA Nyangwara wants Kidero impeached over incompetence, lack of leadership qualities and indecisiveness in making decisions.
“I have received the above stated motion from Hon Samuel Nyangwara pursuant to Article 181 of the constitution and Section 33 of the county government act,” read the memo from the clerk’s chamber.
The law requires that an impeachments motion against a governor be tabled before the house after getting the support of a third of the members.
