13 December 2015, 17:21
Nairobi - Treasury CS Henry Rotich has urged CORD leader Raila Odinga to apologize over comments made in regards to the Eurobond transactions.
The Treasury CS, in a statement to the media Sunday, the CS stated that there was nothing to warrant statements by Raila to the effect that KES 140 billion had been lost in Eurobond transactions.
" We call upon these commentators and others to apologize to Kenyans for misleading them into believing KES 140 billion disappeared from government accounts or the Treasury cooked figures,” he said Sunday.
Raila has claimed that as much as the KES 140 billion has been misappropriated by Treasury and has been asked to explain his assertions by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC.
He has thus fare refused.
During Saturday's Jamhuri Day celebrations, President Uhuru Kenyatta notioned that there would be repercussions for those found to have lied or provided false information about the use of the Eurobond.
