Apologize and return, Kalonzo tells Mutua

13 April 2016, 19:05 William Korir

Nairobi - Apologize and return to the CORD Coalition, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has been told.

According to sources close to Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, he is still open to welcoming Mutua back to the CORD fold if he is willing to.

The two have been facing a number of difficulties in recent times with every public event being met with accusations and counter accusations by the two.

It has prompted Mutua to start his own party, the Maendeleo Chap Chap movement to battle the status quo but Kalonzo is said to be open to having Mutua back in the CORD fold.

Despite the endless insults and continued issues between the two, the CORD co principal is open to having Mutua back in the CORD fold to help Kamba Unity ahead of the 2017 elections.

" It is vital that Mutua is in the CORD camp because he is a resourceful person. There is need to be unified ahead of the elections," the source told News24.

Mutua has opened up several offices in Eastern Kenya to combat Kalonzo but that does not stop the former Vice President from having good things to say about him.

" The Governor is welcome back," the source added.

Mutua has thus far indicated that he will try retain his seat using the Chap Chap movement.
