Nairobi - Film lovers and makers in Kenya are in for a treat this week
with the Ambika Afrika Safari Film Festival making its way to Nairobi.
started on Wednesday the 12th of October and is set to run till next Wednesday
the 19th. The main aim of the festival is to celebrate film in Africa and to
get a chance to show some of these films to audiences who might otherwise never
have known about the quality of film coming out of the continent.
The theme this year, “The Africa We Want: One Africa, One
Vision, One Destiny” is an indication of the direction in which The Pan African
Federation of Filmmakers (FEPACI) is planning to help film in Africa grow and
take hold across the world.
There is an African Film Finance Summit running
from the 13th to the 14th at the Radisson Blu with an
entrance fee of 100$ and the African Film Forum on the 18th at the same
venue with a 50$ entry fee.
