Nanyuki - A man suspected to be a member of the Al Shabaab terror group has been arraigned in a Nanyuki court.
Mathar Bahit was arrested at Lenana Lodge in Nanyuki town after the hotel workers became suspicious of his activities.
He had just paid for his accommodation at the hotel.
However, after appearing in court he could not take plea following prosecution’s request that he be remanded by police for seven days to allow further investigations.
State Counsel Caroline Nyambura noted that investigations will include extensive traveling to Isiolo, Marsabit and Nairobi counties.
Principal Magistrate, Waititu Gichimu granted the request and slated the case for mentioning next week.
