Ababu on his way out of ODM

26 April 2016, 19:10 Victor Tinto

Nairobi - Budalang'i MP and ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba is on his way out of ODM.

Ababu, according to party insiders is actively seeking a plan for Luyha unity ahead of the 2017 General Elections as he feels that ODM has short-changed the community.

The MP has been involved in several meetings with senior Luhya folk as well as Musalia Mudavadi of the Amani National Congress.

Whether it is an exit plan remains to be seen.

" Ababu has been disillusioned about ODM for a long time. That is why he has been quiet in recent times," the source told News24.

The MP who has in the past been a strong supporter of ODM and CORD leader Raila Odinga is said to be feeling like the party is heading in the wrong direction under the stewardship of the long time opposition leader.

" Ever since the botched party elections as well as the nomination of many members to elective posts afterwards, Ababu has been unhappy," the source added.

Whether he will leave ODM and where he will go to as well as who he will support will be a topic of discussion as the 2017 elections nears.
