Nairobi - Ababu Namwamba has failed Luhyas, a Jubilee leader has said.
Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka told News24 on phone that Ababu's call for a third force for Luhyas were ill timed and misadvised.
He called on Luhya people to only support the Jubilee Coalition to seek prosperity.
" Ababu has quit ODM, which is good, but he is misleading Luhyas by telling them to support a third force which will not win the 2017 elections," he stated.
He added that only CORD leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta were capable of being the next President of Kenya.
" If you look closely, only two people are capable of being the next President of Kenya and Ababu is not one of them, nor is anyone else," he added.
Ababu has been calling for a Luhya only party to serve their interests but those calls have thus far fallen on deaf ears in the region, with CORD leader Odinga getting a resounding welcome in western Kenya last week.
Yet, it remains to be seen what direction Ababu will take come the next few weeks.
