Youths urged to avoid malicious Politicians

29 February 2012, 11:19 Steve Wambugu

Nakuru County Youths Programme has come out strongly condemning malicious politicians for misusing their power and position, to influence the youths of Kenya to cause mayhem during election years. And now they want the government to put in place tough measures that will curb such scenario from happening again this year.

Speaking during a press conference in Nakuru yesterday, NCYP chairman Paul Macharia said the youths of this country for so long have been manipulated and bribed by opportunistic leaders, who only want to get into power at the expense of the youths.

“It is high time the youths of this country stop being misused by malicious leaders who only want to get into power at the expense of innocent youths of this country.” Macharia reiterated.

Macharia further said that true reconciliation and peace in Nakuru County can only be realized through representation of each and every community, in the leadership level and not through exclusion of others.

“We plead to our politicians, to keep off from intervening with the affairs of the youths in this County and instead they should focus on how to bring all communities together”. Said Paul.

The NCYP group in addition urged Nakuru residence and especially the youths to observe peace as the future of this country depend on them.
