Youths beat up MCAs for misappropriation

Migori - Operations in Migori County were paralyzed after irate youths invaded the assembly and beat up MCAs over KES 12 million that they allegedly misappropriated.
Jared Osawa (South Sakwa), Jack Gucha (Kakrao) and Joshua Ongoma (East Kamagambo) were assaulted by the youths who were protesting reports by Public Investment and accounts committee that the cash could not be accounted for.
In the report, KES 900 000 was dubiously paid to advocates handling the case of the former majority leader Hon. Johnson Owiro.

Another KES 900 000 was paid to a contractor while KES 30 000 was used to pay a meal for a single senior individual among other irregular allocations.
The seven-member committee investigated among other individuals, the embattled county speaker Hon. Ogola Gordon whi is facing impeachment.
South Sakwa ward representative, Hon. Jared Osawa alleged that the County speaker withdrew KES 1.5m to hire the youths who caused the chaos, claims the speaker has vehemently denied.
