World marks the 101th Anniversary of Women's Day

On Thursday March 8th the world will mark the 101th Anniversary of the International Women's Day, which has grown to become a global day of recognition.
Infotrak Research and Consulting partnered with UN and conducted a nationwide opinion poll in line with this year's theme, ''Connecting Girls,Inspiring Futures''.
The poll established where Kenyan's draw their inspiration from. 30%get inspiration from religious sources, some get it from close women in our lives like their mothers, wives, sisters and aunts.
In politics Gichugu Mp Martha Karua is the most inspiring woman with 60% followed by Charity Ngilu 11% and the Late Prof. Wangari Maathai 8%.
82% of Kenyans said they don't have any problem voting for women candidates, a 2% improvement from last year's polls, where 13% said they cannot vote for women and 5% not decided.
Speaking during the release of the polls at Nairobi, the Infotrak Public Policy & Governance Research Division Manager,- Raphael Mulwa, urged young women to contest in the coming general elections.
Mulwa also requested that the goverment ensure that the young women get education,equal job opportunities and mentor them.
