Bills seeking to give KES 100 Million to the women and youth enterprise fund will be tabled in Laikipia County assembly.
The Laikipia County executive committee members have prepared about 14 bills which will be taken to parliament for debate.
Speaking to the media in Nanyuki town, the assembly Speaker Patrick Mariru said that the bills are set to be debated by members of county assembly in the next two months.
Mariru said that among other bills include the water management, County roads Authority, health management, County social and council economic bills.
The Speaker said that professionals from Laikipia but living outside the County will be given space to engage through legal framework in County activities.
Mariru said that the bills emanate from the constitutional functions that have been devolved from the national Government to the County Governments.
Mariru said, “The County assembly will hold civic education for two months to the members of public so that they can understand the role of the County assembly.”
He said they will be organizing public barazas in all wards within the County to help people understand the role of the assembly.
In a week’s time, the assembly is also set to approve a KES 3.2 Billion budget proposal presented by the County executive.
