01 May 2013, 15:41
Nakuru County Women Representative Mary Mbugua has called on women to step forward and compete for executive positions at the county government.
The woman rep added that the 2010 constitution has given women power saying they should take advantage of the new law of the land and apply for various job opportunities that comes with the grass root government.
Speaking on Tuesday in Nakuru during a meeting with various women leaders in the county, Mbugua said that the only way the county can grow is through collective responsibility across the board.
She further observed that she will continue to work closely with Governor Kinuthia Mbugua as one way to propel the economy of the county to the next level.
“This growth of the county will only be through collective responsibility and that’s why we will support the governor,” she said.
She added that Nakuru has qualified women who can head big posts in the county and thus the need to compete with men.
