Women cheat too, not just men

04 December 2014, 21:31 Shakila Alivitsa

Nairobi - We have to stop talking about men being cheaters because truth is women do it too but men get more spotlight as compared to women.

A man can be faithful too. He will love that woman, care for her, treat her like a queen and cherish her but at the end of the day temptation still plays a role on the decision he will finally make.  It is not that men love to cheat but the decisions they make before they do cheat. And the regret that follows because most of these guys after the haze has cleared just realize that it was never worth it and they would have loved to take steps to avoid it if only they had known.

They key for a man to avoid the noose of cheating is completely avoiding temptation but whoever said that people get away from what makes their heart beat faster? Fact of the matter is that you do not love your girlfriend less just that a problematic situation brought itself up at a wrongful turn. You have that co-worker at the office and soon enough you are put on a project together, instead of passing it up, you decide what is the worst that could happen and soon enough. You have that affair. It is the friend that you should not have been talking to, or the relative that is persistent.

The worst part is we women like to point a finger at the woman and never the man, never remembering that at the end of the day he is his own person and it is not her job to keep him in check. This is not about sister solidarity but about the kind of discipline and control your man has when it comes to your relationship because it was her today, and it will be someone else tomorrow. Are you going to fight them all, or make him decide whether you are worth the next pair of panties he is able to drop?

That is why I constantly emphasize on the fact that good relationships are based on respect and trust because you would not want to disrespect your man in a way that unmans him and conversely he should not be out with a woman that at the end of the day would make you seem like less of a woman. That should feed the kind of discipline that he maintains when he steps out. I have a friend who says that a man is yours when he is at home, but when he steps out of the door he is someone else’s. That make sme uncomfortable because then why then are you wasting each other’s time rather than being out there with all those other people. You might just find your gem in one of them.
