Kampala - Naume Musubika, 30 shocked creditors when she wore her husband's suit and hat to escape from a policeman and other people who had gone to arrest her.
Musubika is reportedly a member of a saving group in Bugembe, Uganda's eastern district of Jinja.
After getting a loan of USH 2 million shillings from the saving group she was supposed to pay back in a weekly installment of 25,000 shillings but she defaulted.
One of the leaders of the saving group, Amina Namwase was shocked by the incident.
" After failing to remit the required money for three weeks, we reported the matter to police. Police with the help of three saving group members went to her house in the morning to arrest her but she tricked them and escaped," she said.
Namwase said that on seeing those who had gone to arrest her through the window, put on her husband's suit, sunglasses and hat before walking out through the hind door while swinging a walking stick.
She had earlier instructed her house-maid to inform the policemen and creditors that she was coming in a few minutes to meet them in the compound, so when they saw 'a man in a suit' walk away through the hind door, they thought it was either her husband or a visitor.
After waiting for over 30 minutes, they resolved to enter the house and arrest her but she was nowhere to be seen and thus on threatening to arrest the maid, she informed them she was the one they saw in a suit.
