Nyeri - A bar maid at Kiamariga trading centre in Mathira has stabbed a 26- year- old man to death after a family quarrel in a bar.
Naftaly Rubua Gathanji, 27, whom the woman was accusing of spying on her, was stabbed on the chest twice using a kitchen knife.
"He had been sent by my unfaithful husband to spy on me," she said.
He died on arrival at a private clinic nearby.
The barmaid lured the man out of Starehe Bar on Saturday afternoon and stabbed him.
Rubua, who is a mechanic at Kiamariga trading centre, is the seventh born in a family of eight.
His sister, Grace Wamuyu, said she was told by Rubua’s friend that the woman who was drunk later escaped.
She went underground and police have launched a manhunt for her.
Area police boss, Richard Kemboi said they are pursuing the woman after the incident.
An eyewitness, Moses Maina said the husband of the bar maid was also injured in the melee and was treated at Emmanuel Clinic and discharged later.
Paul Gitahi, who is a local resident said the two have been quarreling for the last two days.
Shocked residents jammed the home of Rubua upon hearing the bad news.
The families now want the woman arrested and face the full force of the law.
