Nakuru - Police in Nakuru are holding a middle-aged woman who allegedly set her home ablaze Wednesday with the aim of killing her sleeping husband following a domestic squabble.
Nakuru police boss, Bernard Kioko confirmed the incident saying that the woman, Triza Njeri, was drunk when she burnt down her house at Maili sita village Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking to the press at Nakuru town, Kioko said the woman had a quarrel with her husband on Tuesday night before she disappeared later in the night only to come back home Wednesday morning drunk, setting the house on fire while the husband was asleep.

“The husband was asleep because he was not feeling well and the wife took advantage of his condition to set the house on fire with the aim of burning him to death but luckily he managed to escape through the window, sustaining severe burns on the hands, back and legs,” he said.
“They had quarreled the previous night over money according to the husband, and the woman did not sleep at their house that night,” he added.
The woman however claimed that the husband was the one who set the house on fire with the aim of committing suicide, something the husband who is admitted at the Baraka nursing home in Nakuru denied.
She will be arraigned in court Thursday to face charges of attempted murder and arson attack.
