Woman held for slashing neighbour to death

Nyeri - A middle-aged woman from Gathehu village in Mathira sub-County, Nyeri is being held by police for killing her neighbour for unknown reasons.
It is reported that the assailant used a panga to kill the mother of three on Sunday evening.
According to residents, the two were good friends and were at the deceased’s home when the incident occurred.
“The attacker had visited the deceased person’s home since they have been friends for long. She was carrying a panga as had just left her farm,” reported James Mureithi, a resident.

Mureithi alleged that the suspect sometimes loses her mind, adding that she recently attacked another woman leaving her with serious injuries.
“Recently she attacked another woman using a panga but she did not die,” said Mureithi.
Police officers from Karatina police station who rushed to the scene of crime escorted the suspect to the police station where she was locked up awaiting trial.
