“I had gonefor a medical stakeholders forum at Sirimba health centre in Bunyala when the expectant mother was brought in by her relatives, but when I noticed the condition she was in, I immediately alerted the health team at Nangina Mission hospital to prepare to handle the case,” Dr. Oriko said.
The mother was admitted at the hospital where she delivered a baby boy on Tuesday through a C-section.
Oriko noted that the woman appeared unusually exhausted and weak at the time of her arrival, a situation that prompted the medical team to rush and attend to her as she was at the point of death.
Dr Martina, who supervised the operation, disclosed that the operation lasted close to an hour.
The woman did not hesitate to thank the hospital staff for their effort to ensure safe delivery.
